About Pen Point Technologies

A family business built on real ink and real trust.

For over 20 years we've quietly built the technology behind the world's most widely used handwriting machines. Real pen. Real ink. Handwritten mail at scale.

Louisville, Kentucky

Born in the non-profit sector. Based in Louisville.

Pen Point Technologies was born in the non-profit sector, where handwritten authenticity isn't a nice-to-have — it's the difference between a donation and a discarded envelope. Handwritten donation round-up returns run 200–300% above the average mail piece. That's the standard we've built to ever since.

For 20+ years, Louisville has been the epicenter of handwritten mail. That's where we build, test, and support the machines that power the industry — hardware assembled by people who know each customer by name.

Leadership

The person behind the machines.

Matt Redmon

Owner & CEO

Matt left college early in 2018 to co-found Pen Point in 2020, moving to South Florida alone to build the office, hire the team, and bring on the first clients. In 2026 he now acts as CEO and is solely responsible for growing the world of handwritten mail.

“We know one thing and one thing only… handwritten mail. We know what works, what doesn’t work, what’s possible, and what’s important. And as long as you continue to open a handwritten letter, we’ll be in business.”

The team

The people behind the pen.

Small enough to fit on one page, and that's the point: the people who assemble your machine, write the software, and answer the phone are the same people you'll actually talk to.

On the road

If your industry mails, we've probably had a booth there.

For years we've taken machines on the road — set up on the floor, writing live, at the biggest shows in print, postal, auto retail, and lead generation. It's where a spec sheet becomes a crowd: people stop, watch the pen move, and pick up the piece it just wrote.

It's also how we stay close to the industries we serve. The businesses that mail for a living tell us what to build next — usually standing right next to the machine.

Who runs them

From a single desk to fleets of 300+.

Today, customers range from solo operators running a single machine to enterprises with 300+ machines under one roof. Our print-shop clients run fleets of 22–200 machines producing a cumulative 100M+ pieces a year. Across our network, more than 500M pieces of handwritten mail have been written by Pen Point machines.

What we focus on

We build for the operators who count every piece.

High-output operations

Machines engineered to run for hours unattended, day after day, so your throughput scales without adding headcount.

Lead-gen ROI

Handwritten mail exists to convert. Every design choice — pen pressure, font variation, ink saturation — is tuned for the response rate that matters.

Production capability

Software, hardware, and font technology built together so a single operator can oversee dozens of machines writing at once.
